China Railway International Group Co., Ltd (CRIG) is a subsidiary focused on international business of China Railway Group Limited (CREC), a Fortune Global 500 company and one of the world's largest construction and engineering contractors. In 2008, CREC consolidated its international business resources to establish China Railway International Economic Cooperation Co., Ltd. In November 2013, CREC restructured and merged 4 of its international business subsidiaries to establish China Railway International Group Co., Ltd. From 2014 to 2020, CRIG underwent a series of restructuring processes, including the integration and subsequent divestment of China Overseas Engineering Group Co., Ltd(COVEC). Through years of overseas operation and localized integration, CRIG has developed strong capabilities of whole-system integration and enjoyed a reputable brand influence.

With a history of over 120 years, China Railway Group Limited is a large state-owned enterprise integrating survey and design, construction and installation, industrial manufacturing, real estate development, resource utilization, financial investment, overseas engineering, and other emerging businesses. In 2024, CREC ranked 35th among the Fortune Global 500 and 2nd in the ENR Top 250 Global Contractors. Its projects span over 100 countries and regions worldwide. CREC has developed unique internal control management and technological R&D advantages in high-speed railways, heavy-haul railways, large bridges, long tunnels, railway electrification, bridge steel structures, shield tunneling machines, high-speed railway turnouts, and automobile proving ground. It offers vertical integration one-stop turnkey services in the construction industry. CREC's technical expertise in bridge, tunnel and urban rail transit construction is globally advanced, and its railway electrification technology represents the highest level in China. In China, CREC has contributed to the construction of more than 2/3 of total railway mileage, 90% of electrified railways, and approximately 1/8 of expressway mileage and 3/5 of urban rail transit projects. The shield tunneling machines independently developed and manufactured by CREC have been exported to 32 countries, including France, Italy, the UAE, Singapore, and Israel.

CREC marked a milestone in its international development by undertaking the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (Tazara) in the 1970s. Today, its overseas offices and projects are spread across more than 100 countries and regions. CREC has implemented a series of landmark international projects including but not limited to the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway in Indonesia, the China-Laos Railway, the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway, the Hungary-Serbia Railway (Hungary section), the Padma Bridge and Rail Link Project in Bangladesh, the Addis Ababa Light Rail in Ethiopia, the Red Line Light Rail in Israel, the Qamchiq Tunnel of the Angren-Pap Railway in Uzbekistan, the Sequele New Town Housing Project in Angola, and the Sicomines Copper-Cobalt Mine in Democratic Republic of the Congo.

China Railway International Group Co., Ltd (CRIG) serves as a crucial wing in CREC’s new development pattern of One Body and Two Wings with Multiple Drive. With a registered capital of 346 Million USD, CREC currently employ over 700 staffs, including more than 300 holding senior or higher qualification titles. CRIG leverages comprehensive industrial chain advantages of CREC and its strong cooperative relationships with financial institutions to develop projects through various models such as general contracting, EPC and PPP. Our business scope covers multiple sectors, including railways, roads and highways, urban rail transit, municipal engineering, housing construction, ports and airports, agricultural water conservancy, energy and power, mineral resources, ICT, and international trades.

TRANSTECH International, one of CRIG's key subsidiary, stepped into overseas market in the 1980s under the influence of China's reform and opening-up policy, engaging in labor export and project construction. It has participated in the construction of several significant infrastructure projects, such as the Highway 1 in Iraq, National Road 7 in Cambodia, and the renovation of National Road 13 in Laos. Since 2000, CRIG has accelerated the going global strategy, delivering high-quality infrastructure projects that have contributed to local economic and social development and improved people's livelihoods. Currently, CRIG operates in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Hong Kong, and Macau SAR, with business presence and ongoing projects in 39 countries and regions worldwide.

CRIG played a leading role in driving the implementation of flagship projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), including the China-Laos Railway and the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway in Indonesia. We also successfully delivered over 1000  medium and large-scale overseas projects, including Design, Supply and Rebuilding of Railway from Bungo to Baia, and Railway within Luanda Port in Angola,  the design and construction of Etihad Rail stations in the UAE, the N13 Highway in Mozambique, the Construction of Murtala Muhammed Way Fly-over Bridges in Kano State Nigeria, Development of Al-Nsoor Roundabout in Baghdad Iraq, the Development of National ICT Infra-Network for Bangladesh Government Phase-III, the Southern Expressway in Sri Lanka, the Suai Highway Phase I in East Timor, the El Espino-Charagua-Boyuibe Highway in Bolivia, the Yuen Long South Effluent Polishing Plant in Hong Kong, Guia Hill Pedestrian Tunnel Project in Macao. The China-Laos Railway has been recognized as a BRI bench-marking project, while the Berezov Combined Cycle Power Plant in Belarus was awarded the Belarusian Energy Contribution Award and Order of Labor Glory. Development of National ICT Infra-Network for Bangladesh Government Phase-III won the Asia-Pacific e-Achievement Award 2017, Asia-Oceania Computing Industry Organization Digital Government Award 2018, and World Summit on the Information Society Winning Projects 2019. The Construction of Murtala Muhammed Way Flyover Bridges in Kano State, Nigeria won the Best Engineering Award from the Kano State Society of Engineers, and the Gold Award for Excellence in Road Construction 2019 from the Nigerian Society of Engineers. The Sharjah Police General Headquarters Project in the United Arab Emirates was awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Construction Quality by the Government of the United Arab Emirates. The Tai Po Road Project in Hong Kong won the New Engineering Contract (NEC) Award 2021 from the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK. 7 projects, including the Soyo Combined Cycle Power Plant in Angola, have been awarded the Luban Prize for Chinese Construction Projects (Overseas Projects). A strong brand presence has been established in the global market.
