Bi Yanchun Carries Out a Series of Business Activities in Zimbabwe and South Africa

From November 29 to December 9, Bi Yanchun, Chairman of CRIG, visited Zimbabwe and South Africa to carry out a series of business activities. He visited Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding, Ambassador to South Africa Wu Peng and Consul General in Johannesburg Pan Qingjiang, and held talks with the head of the Zimbabwean Ministry of Finance, Economy and Investment Promotion.

On November 29, Bi Yanchun held talks with Zimbabwe's Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, Musuli Ncube. Bi Yanchun said that CREC attaches great importance to Zimbabwean market and related key projects. This visit to Zimbabwe will further implement the consensus reached by the Zimbabwean government and CREC during the China-Africa Forum, and promote key projects to make new progress as soon as possible to contribute corporate strength to Zimbabwean infrastructure development, industrialization and urbanization. Minister Musuli Ncube said that during the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Forum, China and Zimbabwe issued a joint statement on deepening and enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership and building a high-level China-Zimbabwe community of shared future, which pointed out the direction for the development of bilateral relations. He hoped that CRIG will actively respond to the statement, work with the Zimbabwe National Railway Company to jointly implement relevant key projects, and facilitate Zimbabwe's infrastructure upgrading and economic and social development.

On December 2, Bi Yanchun and his delegation paid a visit to Zhou Ding, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe. Bi Yanchun thanked the Embassy and Ambassador Zhou Ding for their guidance and assistance in the companys operation and management in Zimbabwe and the promotion of key projects, and briefed the cooperation framework and promotion plan of key projects. He said that CRIG would give full play to the advantages of an entire industrial chain of infrastructure, cooperate with relevant ministries and agencies of Zimbabwe to promote the progress of key projects, and contribute to the friendly cooperation between China and Zimbabwe. Ambassador Zhou Ding fully affirmed the achievements made by CRIG in promoting cooperation in key projects, and hoped that CRIG would do the following work well, actively and steadily promote the project, prevent various risks, strive to create a landmark project for China-Zimbabwe cooperation, and contribute wisdom and strength to the comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Zimbabwe.

On December 8, Bi Yanchun met with Wu Peng, the Chinese Ambassador to South Africa. Bi Yanchun expressed his gratitude to the embassy and Ambassador Wu for their long-term guidance and support in CRIG's operations and the promotion of key projects in South Africa. He briefed CRIG's business layout in Southern Africa and the progress of ongoing projects in South Africa. He said that CRIG would leverage its full infrastructure industrial chain advantages to ensure high-quality performance of ongoing projects, further explore new business models, and actively participate in the coordination of high-quality BRI cooperation with South Africa's road network upgrade plan. By fully utilizing its integrated service capabilities in the rail transit sector, CRIG aims to contribute to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and South Africa.

Ambassador Wu acclaimed CRIG for its long-term commitment to the South African market, its participation in strategic projects of the South African government, and its significant contributions to South Africa's economic and social development. He urged CRIG to fully leverage its corporate strengths, conduct market operations and project implementation in compliance with regulations, actively fulfill social responsibilities, and make new contributions to the high-quality development of practical cooperation between China and South Africa. Ambassador Wu highlighted that the upgrade of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway is crucial to the overall layout of the Southern African railway plan. He emphasized the importance of earnestly implementing the broad consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, further integrating into the local railway and infrastructure construction, and fully supporting local economic and social development and the improvement of people's livelihoods. This will help revitalize the friendship and development between China and Africa, bringing new vitality to the path of China-African cooperation.

On December 4, Bi Yanchun met with Pan Qingjiang, the Chinese Consul General in Johannesburg.

During his stay in South Africa, Bi Yanchun led a team to inspect and guide the Durban Railway Signaling Project, Rossburg Station Project, Sandton Skye Apartment Project, and IFC Project to conduct research. He put forward specific requirements on project planning, construction organization, on-site scheduling, equipment installation, safety management, and investment project development.
