Zhao Jinxiang Conducts Business Activities in the United Arab Emirates（UAE）

From October 22 to 25, Zhao Jinxiang, President of CRIG, conducted a series of business activities in the UAE and visited Zhang Yiming, Chinese Ambassador to the UAE. He also held talks with Dr. Hazem Mobarek, CEO of YAS PROJECTS, Sun Yuanjiang, Acting Head of Office of the AIIB Interim Operational Hub in Abu Dhabi of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and Engineer Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail .

On the morning of October 24, Zhao Jinxiang paid a visit to Zhang Yiming, Chinese Ambassador to the UAE. Zhao Jinxiang thanked the Embassy and Ambassador for the long-term support for the development of CREC's overseas business, and briefly introduced CRIG's global business layout, exploration of the Middle East market and progress of key projects in the UAE. Zhao Jinxiang said that the UAE is the company's core country market in the Middle East. CRIG will give full play to the advantages of the company's entire industrial chain, strengthen resource integration and allocation, optimize construction organization, and build key projects with high quality. At the same time, relying on local development, CRIG will actively practice its responsibilities as a central SOE, continue to deepen the UAE market exploration, expand cooperation in a wider range of infrastructure, and contribute to the high-quality BRI cooperation between China and UAE.

Ambassador Zhang Yiming welcomed the visit of Zhao Jinxiang and his delegation, and highly praised CREC's positive contribution to the UAE infrastructure construction under the "Belt and Road" initiative. Ambassador Zhang pointed out that the UAE is a key country for Sino-Arab cooperation, and CRIG has demonstrated the quality standards of Chinese enterprises in the construction of related projects. CRIG has established a brand image of Chinese SOEs and effectively improved the level of local transportation and infrastructure. He hoped that CRIG will give full play to its own advantages of an entire industrial chain, seize the strategic opportunity of China-UAE bilateral relations, deeply integrate into local economic development, actively assume social responsibilities, and become a contributor of pragmatic and friendly cooperation between China and UAE.

On the afternoon of October 23, Zhao Jinxiang held talks with Dr. Hazem Mobarek, CEO of the YAS PROJECTS. The two sides exchanged views on the overall plan, construction schedule, and supporting resource organization of the jointly implemented project. Dr. Hazem Mobarek gave a detailed introduction to the overall business of YAS and the current project progress, and expressed appreciation for the professional capabilities demonstrated by CRIG. He proposed relevant optimization suggestions for the project construction, and hoped that CRIG would continue to strengthen the coordination, guidance and management at the headquarters level to promote the smooth implementation of the project.

Zhao Jinxiang expressed his gratitude to Dr. Hazem Mobarek and his team for their guidance and assistance on the project, and briefly introduced the management measures of CRIG headquarters for the project. He said that he would seriously study Dr. Hazem Mobarek's good suggestions, continuously improve resource support and communication, speed up the efficiency of decision-making, and continue to promote the high-quality construction of the project. He also hoped that the two sides would take this project cooperation as a starting point to strengthen in-depth cooperation and exchanges and jointly promote the modernization of the UAE's infrastructure.

The two sides had in-depth exchanges and reached consensus on supporting the high-quality BRI cooperation and on actively expanding overseas business. Sun Yuanjiang warmly welcomed the visit of Zhao Jinxiang and his delegation. He gave a detailed introduction of the business development of the AIIB in the Middle East region and appreciated CRIG's high-quality participation in the BRI projects. He expressed the willingness to continue to expand the scope of cooperation with CRIG to jointly promote regional connectivity.

Zhao Jinxiang thanked Sun Yuanjiang for his warm reception and gave a detailed introduction of CREC's overseas business layout and the progress of CRIG's projects in the Middle East. He said that CRIG will give full play to its comprehensive service advantages of an entire industrial chain, deepen pragmatic cooperation with the AIIB, strive to improve the level of cooperation, and jointly promote local economic development and social prosperity.

On the afternoon of October 24 and 25, Zhao Jinxiang held talks with Engineer Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail, UAE. Zhao Jinxiang expressed his gratitude for the other side’s support and trust in CRIG, and introduced the profile of CRIG and the business development of CREC in the UAE. He said that CRIG has always regarded the UAE as an important country market. In recent years, it has actively leveraged the advantages of the entire industrial chain and participated in a number of infrastructure construction projects in the UAE. He said that CRIG has the ability and confidence to become a sustained participant and contributor and a long-term partner in terms of the UAE's transportation infrastructure. At the same time, relying on the ongoing railway projects, it will further cooperation with relevant parties in the UAE, construct more high-quality infrastructure projects, and better serve the development of the UAE railway industry.

During the talks, the two sides exchanged views on the performance of the ongoing projects. Engineer Shadi Malak said that the company will increase its support and reinforcement efforts. CRIG should continue to increase its resource investment, strengthen design management, and ensure key construction milestones’ delivery. He believes that CRIG has the ability and strength to ensure performance, and to continue to strengthen cooperation in other related projects in the UAE to fully demonstrate CREC's international construction management ability.
