On July 11, Bi Yanchun, Chairman of CRIG, held talks with Sheillah Chikomo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on strengthening cooperation in related projects and promoting the development of the infrastructure construction in Zimbabwe, and reached broad consensus.

Bi Yanchun expressed his sincere welcome for the visit of Sheillah Chikomo and his delegation, and introduced the history, global business layout, and advantageous areas of CREC. He said that the BRI Cooperation is consistent with the Zimbabwe's "First Five-Year Plan" for national development, and there is a broad prospect for practical cooperation between China and Zimbabwe. He reviewed the pleasant experience of visiting Zimbabwe in May this year and the important consensus reached during his visit to President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. He said Zimbabwe is an important country for CREC to deepen its development. CRIG has fully utilized the advantages of the entire industrial chain and professional strength to effectively strengthen in-depth coordination and exchanges with relevant ministries and commissions in Zimbabwe, deepen practical cooperation in the field of infrastructure construction, promote the implementation of relevant projects, integrate into local development, fulfill social responsibilities, in order to promotes Zimbabwe's economic and social development, improve people's livelihood, and contribute to the win-win cooperation between China and Zimbabwe.

Sheillah Chikomo expressed her gratitude for the warm reception from CRIG, and introduced the planning and layout of Zimbabwe's transportation infrastructure and the planning and development of Zimbabwe's "First Five-Year Plan" for national development, and elaborated on the development prospects, promotion steps and development direction of the potential cooperative projects between the two sides. She said that the leaders of China and Zimbabwe have frequent interactions, the comprehensive strategic partnership has become closer, and Chinese companies have a strong momentum to invest and start businesses in Zimbabwe. CREC's professional strength and achievements in the field of global infrastructure construction, especially in the field of railway construction, are obvious to all. It is hoped that the two sides will carry out mutually beneficial cooperation in infrastructure construction, energy and mining, digital economy, green and sustainable development, and jointly promote the steady and long-term development of China-Zimbabwe pragmatic cooperation.
